She Builds: A Day of Service with WCCD, DMV Women's Affordable Housing Network, Housing&, and Rebuild Together of Montgomery County (2 Oct 2026)

She Builds 2026

Build alongside us. Make an impact.

Women of Color in Community Development (WCCD) is proud to partner with Women’s Affordable Housing Network (WAHN), Housing& and Rebuilding Together Montgomery County for She Builds 2026, a hands-on day of service bringing women together to support women in our community.

On Friday, October 2, volunteers will help complete critical health and safety repairs and beautification projects at an all-women’s shelter in Rockville, Maryland. Projects may include interior and exterior painting, landscaping, deck and storage work, debris removal, closet installation and ramp safety improvements.

Event Details

Friday, October 2, 2026
9:00 AM–3:30 PM
Rockville, Maryland

Morning and afternoon volunteer shifts are available. Light breakfast refreshments, lunch and beverages will be provided.

Volunteers should wear long pants, closed-toe shoes and clothing suitable for hands-on work. Volunteers ages 10–17 must have a guardian-signed waiver; children under 10 are not permitted on Rebuilding Together Montgomery County worksites.

Join the WCCD Volunteer Team

We’d love to have WCCD members and friends join us for this year’s She Builds project.

Step 1: Register directly with Rebuilding Together Montgomery County to secure your volunteer shift and complete the required volunteer agreement.

[REGISTER TO VOLUNTEER]

Step 2: Once you’ve registered, let WCCD know you’re joining our team so we can stay connected with our volunteers.

[CONFIRM WITH WCCD]

Together, we can help create safer, stronger spaces for women in our community.
